PRECISION PHARMACY is a specialty pharmacy concentrating our inventory on only FDA approved generic pharmaceuticals and a few brand name medications. We can sell prescription medications for less to our patients because we have found an underserved niche in the pharmacy industry. Most insurance companies contract with pharmacies on a pre-determined price. As is mandated by the pharmacy’s contract with the insurance companies, the pharmacy’s mark-up on most brand name medications is very low. This leaves a pharmacy dispensing some of the medications to private insurers at cost, or worse yet, below cost.

Pharmacies have to raise the price of generic medications absorbedly high to makes up for the poor margin on brand name medications. PRECISION PHARMACY sells FDA approved generic medications at extremely low discounted rates because we do not accept private insurances, we do not have to make up for poor reimbursement rates from insurance payers, and our money is not tied up unnecessarily in inventory costs. Most of our generic drug prices are even better than Canadian prices.

Insurance companies try to increase profits by charging the public increasingly high co-pays of 5.00, 10.00, 15.00, even 25.00 dollars. They also can limit many patients to a 30 days supply and direct them to change the doctor’s prescription to one of their formulary approved drugs. Many people in the general public are unaware that mandating a 30 days supply increases overall prescription drug costs. PRECISION PHARMACY, when allowed by law, can dispense up to a 1 years worth of medicine at a time. Many generic medications we carry are less than 40.00 dollars for an entire year.

Finally, there are approximately 6.5 million Californians with no medical insurance. Eighty-three percent of those come from working families! We believe that everyone has a right to affordable prescriptions. We strive to achieve lower costs and work with our patients without insurance by carrying some brand name medications, upon request, while charging a minimal mark-up.
